Kempsville Building Materials expands in Richmond

The new Kempsville Building Materials facility, on 18 acres and with a 120,000 square foot warehouse, is strategically located in the Airport Industrial Park in Henrico, Virginia.

Kempsville Building Materials recently completed the addition of a new facility in Richmond, Virginia, allowing it to better serve its professional builder customers in the marketplace. The new facility, on 18 acres and with a 120,000 square foot warehouse, is strategically located in the Airport Industrial Park in Henrico, Virginia.

Kempsville Building Materials, which has 50 employees in the Richmond market, has served professional builders there for 10 years from two smaller facilities. However, with continued market growth and to meet customer demands, Kempsville consolidated the two existing locations into this new, larger facility in June.

“This facility uniquely positions us for growth in a market that ranks among the nation’s ’50 Best Places to Live’. With our commitment to partnering with our customers for their future growth, we have invested in this location to be able to meet the growing needs of our loyal customers in the Greater Richmond area. The larger footprint and warehouse space at this location will also allow us to soon add ten employees to meet the specialized needs of builders in this market,” said Greg Harrell, vice president of sales for Kempsville.

Kempsville Building Materials is a division of Carter Lumber Company and currently operates eight locations and two manufacturing plants in Virginia and North Carolina.
