After a two-year hiatus, ACE Event Management has launched its annual program – the Water Africa and West Africa Building and Construction Exhibition and Seminar at the International Conference Center from Accra.
The prestigious three-day event brought together experts from around the world to discuss and showcase the products used in the water and construction space to help solve the infrastructure challenges facing Ghana in the 21st century .
Speaking to Joy Business at the opening of the event, ACE Events Management Managing Director Madame Nolan-Shaw noted that water and sanitation challenges are major issues. which need to be resolved.
“In Ghana, like most global issues, water and construction are the most important issues, but especially water. Without water we have no life and this program simply brings local as well as global expertise to come together and discuss improvement for Ghana’s future”.
Providing some recommendations to help prevent flooding during the rainy season, Sanitation and Water Resources Minister Cecilia Abena Dapaah said her team would do everything possible to help control the floods, but also urged Ghanaians to keep the environment clean to mitigate the effects of flooding.
“We need to understand our decentralization structures. If you’re given a permit to build over a drain, it’s a mistake that you don’t have to build. The president gave instructions to shoot them down. We have a problem with waste dumping in the rains. It has to stop”.
Cecilia Abena Dapaah further encouraged young people in the water and sanitation sector to take advantage of the exhibition since most of the exhibitors are foreigners who are looking for partners here in Ghana.
More than 70 companies from around the world and the West African region showcase their technology in the water, sanitation, housing and construction sectors.
Alongside the exhibition, a stimulating two-day seminar program includes expert discussions on “Drinking Water – Latest Technologies, Strategies and Innovation” and “Innovations in Building and Construction – Addressing the Housing Deficit” .
A CPD course/workshop will take place on June 10, 2022 on the theme “Paradigm shifts in urban water management: innovative technologies and green solution”. It will be hosted by world-renowned professor Bob Andoh.
Most foreign exhibitors who spoke to Joy Business expressed their desire to set up businesses in Ghana.
The event will be held at the Accra International Conference Center and will end on June 10, 2022.
