UPDATE: Waddell’s Owner’s Pool Completed After One Year | 3 on your side

WADDELL, AZ (3TV / CBS 5) – Matt Wallace says thanks to 3 On Your Side, his pool finally has water, and it’s ready for swimming.

“That’s what we wanted,” he told 3 On Your Side. “This is where we needed to be. I am extremely happy. It was the most wonderful feeling in the world to see the pool start to fill with water.”

Wallace began construction by hiring a pool contractor. That was a full 12 months ago.

Wallace hired a reputable pool company in May of last year to start building his pool. But constant industry delays kept Matt’s pool from being completed. So 3 On Your Side got involved, and I spoke with the owner of We Fix Ugly Pools, the company Wallace hired. The owner says he has never seen the swimming pool industry as it is today.

“Right now it’s the biggest problem I’ve ever dealt with in my life,” said Brian Morris. Morris says his company has built 40,000 swimming pools in two decades and is rated A + with the Better Business Bureau. However, he says the pandemic has had negative effects on the entire swimming pool industry.

For starters, with more people working from home, he says there has been a huge spike in homeowners wanting to build a swimming pool. And it has been difficult to complete those pools because skilled people, he says, continue to receive unemployment benefits.

“It’s easier to stay home and make money in the mailboxes,” Morris said. “You earn more money at home than when you come to work. By the time you add insurance and food stamps, you are actually making more money than going to work.

Arizona Registrar of Contractors confirms that there are delays in construction these days, telling 3 On Your Side in this email: “It’s a reality today that the projects are going to take. more time and prices are going to go up, and contractors and homeowners alike are going to need to understand these delays in a contract. “

But, once 3 On Your Side got involved, look what happened. We Fix Ugly Pools have assembled a team to complete the last step, the plastering, which is needed just before adding water.

Ugly Pools Update

“I got frustrated and contacted 3 On Your Side, and the floodgates opened, and all the activity started happening,” Wallace said with a smile. “And by contacting 3 On Your Side, we’ve come to this point, and I think summer is saved.”

Remember, even the Arizona Registrar of Contractors says we are living in this era. Keep this in mind when it comes to construction, whether it’s building a house or building a swimming pool.
